Description
2003 Gibson Nick Lucas Reissue
Here is a cool reissue of the first Signature Gibson guitar ever created. Designed for Nick Lucas, these guitars were produced from the late 1920’s until the last guitar shipped in 1941. This was Gibson’s first good flat top guitar, designed to project sound for live ensemble performance and to enable radio mics of the time to pick up the sound more easily. Gibson accomplished this by making the body 4 1/2″ deep, as well as using a 13 1/2″ wide Spruce soundboard. While the original guitars were either ladder braced or H braced, these reissues appear to be X braced (we aren’t complaining!)

This guitar is in good condition. The guitar has been played quite a bit, though not abused. There are finish swirls throughout with some deeper scratches on the back and sides. Various dings and dents can be found on the top, back, sides, and neck, however none of these are through the finish. The lacquer has sunken into the grain of the spruce top.
