Ancient Kauri. It is perhaps the oldest wood in the world, found only in the New Zealand countryside, where it’s been submerged and preserved in prehistoric bogs for 50,000 years. It is eminently sustainable. The trees were never cut, but lost in storms long before guitars were a thought, much less a reality. Ancient kauri’s look and tone befits its history, with a prismatic, jewel-like luster and a warmth and shimmer to match its epic sustain. Joined with the all-time powerhouse of Adirondack spruce, this Spotlight model is perfect for what Bill Monroe called the “ancient tones” of bluegrass. There is no instrument more unique—make your unique voice be heard.
